The Village of Hebron has engaged OTCO to locate all of its water, sewer and public works assets by global positioning coordinates to improve our mapping and inventory into a Geographic Information System that can be accessed by computers and smart phones. There will be 1-2 people from OTCO starting today that are using a hand-held locating device over the next 4-5 weeks. They are recording and mapping the location of all fire hydrants, manholes, curb boxes, road signs, etc. to be included with the village’s new mapping system. The Operator Training Committee of Ohio is a non-profit organization that assists water and wastewater operators to attain and maintain state licenses.
Join the Hebron Historical Society Monday, August 3rd at 7pm at the Masonic Temple behind Park National Bank in Hebron when Jim Reed will talk about the Ohio Erie Canal and the Deep Cut. Jim is from the Baltimore area and a great historian.
A brief meeting and refreshments will follow. For more information please call 740-929-1545.

The Village of Hebron’s flood study is nearly complete but we are asking residents for their help in providing copies of pictures to show how high the water levels got to their home and/or businesses in recent years. Of particular interest are any photos or information from the rain event that occurred on March 15, 2012. With these pictures and the date of the rain event(s), Bird & Bull, the village’s engineering firm, can finalize their hydrological model to show how quickly and intensely heavy rains impact our storm water collection system. Please e-mail any photos or information to firstname.lastname@example.org or stop by 934 W. Main St., and we can make a copy from your original.
The Hebron Public Works Department is canvasing the village today (7/20/15) and removing fallen limbs from Rights-of-Ways. If you have limbs in your yard, you may place them at the curb and the Public Works Department will pick them up.
