Licking County Recycling

Happy conservation-minded holidays!

As you plan your holiday events and gift-giving, we hope you’ll think about natural resources and the role you play in protecting them.

Please remember to recycle paper, cardboard, plastic, metal and glass. Licking County Recycling has a brochure that lists how and where to recycle various items. Licking County Recycling recommends dropping off your cut, live Christmas tree for recycling at one of the following locations:

ELM Recycling at 1242 Mt. Vernon Rd, Newark, Ohio 43055
Hope Timber 2135 West Main St., Newark, Ohio 43055
The Compost Farm at 775 Jersey Mill Rd., Alexandria, Ohio 43001

If you have OLD or BROKEN Christmas LIGHTS, you may drop them off at Lowe’s in Heath.

Licking County Recycling will also host a free Lunch & Learn meeting on December 19, 2012.

As a small thank you gift, we’ve created a 2013 Volunteer Calendar, which lists Licking Soil & Water events and opportunities to help in the new year. Please stop by the Soil & Water Office to pick up a calendar or send us your U.S. Mail address and we’ll mail one to you.

Need a winter volunteer project? Help us clean wildflower seed for planting at the Natural Resources Area of the Hartford Fairgrounds. Dates and time are flexible and the activity will be held in our heated offices. Contact Denise Natoli Brooks at 740-670-5333 or

As always, thank you for your interest in conservation.
